I’m standing (well sitting in my camping chair) in the iPhone 4gs line outside the mall in Glendale waiting for the Apple store to open at 8am. I arrived at 5am and 50 people were already here. Some people had sleeping cots. The apple employees are passing out Peet’s coffee and water bottles. They came out and people cheered. They are pretty cool with their Mohawks and stylish name tags.
Why am I here? Why can’t I wait a month until they get more online stock (which sold out)? Ask the guys that wait in line at their favorite concert or sporting event or at a Starwars premiere. It’s part of the experience. I’m not much of a sports fan– but I’m a big fan of new technology– particularly from Apple. And there’s a bond here. Some Chinese guy just offered me some sea weed. (totally legal).
